The course elaborates on different policy perspectives of different economists and schools of economic thought. This course focuses on the core values that drive ethical decisions, which consider the broader environment along with honoring self. - ENT620: Systemic Thought in Entrepreneurship
The module focuses on innovation as the necessary driver of success for any organization. Innovation from creativity can be a systematic discipline that exists in all forms of organizations. With the focus on creating systemic processes that burst with innovation, the module balances the role of individual entrepreneurship and organizational innovation.
- ENT621: Managing Small Enterprises
The module introduces learners to the concept of entrepreneurship in business management. The focus is to provide learners with the knowledge and skill to maximize opportunities to grow their business through innovation. The module includes lessons on operational management, marketing, supply chain, competitive advantage, financial accounting, and personal development within the context of a small business environment.
- ENT701: Competitive Advantage—Creating Learning Systems in Entrepreneurial Management
The module weaves learning from the core modules into a systemic perspective of achieving competitive advantage in entrepreneurship. The module explores both established and emerging approaches in marketplace approaches to achieve competitive advantage for small and medium sized enterprises within a cultural context. Learners design a proactive learning system within a small and mid-size enterprise.
- LDR610: Transformational leadership
The module offers an in-depth comparative analysis of the different theories of leadership with an emphasis on cultural adaptations. The module focuses on application of relevant leadership theories within unique cultural contexts. The module provides special focus on transformational leadership, and offers the ability for learners the opportunity to systemically develop transformational leadership in organizations while integrating cultural intelligence.
- LRD611: Strategic Design and implementation
The module provides learners with a comprehensive understanding of change development process exposing learners to the numerous multivariate steps, processes, components and issues that need to be considered in order to gain and sustain a competitive advantage in the global marketplace.
- LDR700: Building an Emotionally intelligent system of Business
The module provides learners with the integration of the people and systems in business. Starting at the individual level, the module focuses on a conscious development process for emotional intelligence as leaders. Using the past experiences of emotional intelligence throughout the course, learners learn to strategically build emotional intelligence from the individual to the organizational level.
- FIN630: Balancing Financial Risk
The module focuses on managing various components of business risk using case studies and real-world assessments. The module addresses how to control for market and credit risks. Learners examine in-depth management of assets and liabilities in combination with other risks that stem from using financial instruments such as financial derivatives. Reputational risk, operational risk, liquidity risk, and ultimately risk of default also are analyzed.
- FIN631: Financial Analysis
The module explores financial concepts used in financial statement reporting, financial analysis, and investments. Topics include creating and understanding a financial statement, appreciating financial disclosure issues, developing a budget, and evaluating cash-flow projections. The module provides insight into financial reports and analysis of the financial position and the operating results of business organizations, including several techniques.
- FIN702: Financial Systems and Proactive Controls in Financial Management
The module provides learners with the knowledge, insight, and analytical skills related to how an international corporation designs and implements systems to plan, implement, control, and manage firm financial performance across the globe. As the final module within the course, the module takes a systemic overview of business that drives globalization while beginning to focus learners on their capstone project.
